A visit in the City and the 4 Nearby Ruins in a pool tour
A walk in the city, a short drive along the 4 Nearby Ruins
With a guide you walk through Cusco for a visit of the Cathedral and Qorikancha, later you drive to the 4 Nearby Ruins to see some real Inca Sites.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel and the tour starts with a visit of Qoricancha, one of the most important religious places of the Incas in Cusco: part of the site consists of the temple of the sun. Over this archaeological site, the Dominicans built their convent, hiding the Inca treasure inside until an earthquake destroyed the convent and laid bare the underlying Inca ruins.
A visit of the Cathedral of Cusco is next. Your guide will explain you all you want to hear about the main church and/or both side chapels.
Then, with a mini bus, follows the visit of the ‘4 Nearby Ruins’ being Saqsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. All 4 of them proud Inca Ruins, of which Saqsayhuaman is the most impressive.
You can opt for a morning or an afternoon visit, but note that during the morning tour, the Cathedral will NOT be visited as not to disturb ongoing services.
Instead of being picked up at your hotel, this tour may start at the front door of the Cathedral of Cusco, or any other given place in the city. This depends on the number of passengers and/or the operator of that moment.

The Fabulous Machu Picchu alternative
Train tickets to Aguas Calientes have been a sore science ever since people wanted to visit Machu Picchu. Certainly in high season, train tickets to Machu Picchu may not be available, more so tickets in your price range may be scarce or unobtainable.
This is why we have put together this viable alternative, a way for you to get to Machu Picchu comfortably, economically and with some interesting sightseeing along the way.
A relaxed visit of Machu Picchu
Instead of travelling up and down all the way from Cusco to Machu Picchu in only 1 day, having to rush from A to B to Z, you can leave for Aguas Calientes the day before your visit to Machu Picchu, thus taking out the stress of too much kilometers in one day, leaving you a good night's rest before you actually visit Machu Picchu the next day. The same as the one day trip, but spread over more time and thus a lot less stressful and including a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

About Pool tours
A pool tour means that you are being put together with people from other hotels to make a visit somewhere together.
What you should know is that guides on these tours are not paid so well. This has two consequences. First, the good guides find work somewhere else, second, the 'lesser' guides who do work the circuit will try to compensate for their (low) wages by begging for tips and most of all, by taking you to souvenir markets and restaurants where they get a high commission. How you react to this situation is up to you, but we'd like you to be informed well before buying.
